Algorithm Designer

Build the complete solution before the rover moves.

Computational thinking
Flowchart mode: build the steps of your algorithm using the command buttons. Your rover will only move when you transmit the complete algorithm.
Mission Control: inspect the map, design your route, then transmit the whole algorithm.

Extraction rocket departed!

The launch window closed before your algorithm was completed. One of the local aliens has offered the rover a lift back to base... probably.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

You planned, represented, tested and debugged algorithms across all three Mars missions. The rover is safe, the samples are secured, and Mission Control is celebrating.

Mission guide

You are the rover programmer. You cannot steer the rover live: you must send a complete algorithm before execution.

1. Inspect the map

Find the rover, cyan sample rocks, landing base and blocked hazards. Green aliens are observers and do not block the route.

2. Design the algorithm

Use Flowchart mode to build a visual sequence, or Pseudocode mode to type precise instructions.

3. Transmit and test

The rover executes each instruction in order. If it hits a hazard, leaves the map, analyses the wrong square or misses the objective, use the feedback to debug.

4. Final mission twist

Mission 3 has a two-minute extraction window. Collect the ancient sample and return to base before the rocket launches.
